Dena Williams MA, LPC, CCTP
Director of Business Development
Dena Williams is a retired police officer, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a first responder parent, who provides culturally competent counseling for public servants and their spouses. She is licensed in the states of Texas and Oklahoma.
Dena’s experience as a police officer, firefighter, and paramedic allows her to have a unique perspective and understanding as a clinician. She has experienced the rewards, demands, and stress of being a public servant and is committed to helping other first responders and their families live healthy more fulfilling lives.
Dena’s clinical and professional background includes:

- Certified in FBI Crisis Negotiations
- Internship Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County
- Provided counseling to child victims of trauma/complex trauma and the protective caretakers
- Provides trauma-focused and evidence-based treatment modalities to first responders and their family members.

Dena began her career in 1994 at DFW Airport where she was triple certified as a paramedic, a firefighter and a police officer. She was assigned to the EMS division during her tenure there. During her law enforcement career, she worked in patrol, the traffic unit, was a hostage negotiator, a field training officer, a police instructor, an accident reconstructionist and a member of the peer support team. Dena retired from a 23-year career in law enforcement spending the last eleven of these years in the crimes against children unit. As a detective, several of her cases received national attention. These cases were featured On the Case with Paula Zahn and True Crime Files.
Dena is also a part of the OurWatch team, a program providing wellness and resiliency workshops for first responders and their families through equine facilitated wellness.
As a Director of Business Development, Dena is committed to the continual growth and development of comprehensive cognitive and physical wellness for first responders in Oklahoma and the surrounding states so that they are prepared, able to endure and recover from the unique professional stressors and demands of their careers.
