Amy works from a marriage and family systems faith-based educational foundation with a desire to restore relationships and equip individuals with skills and strategies to become more resilient to life challenges and transitions. Her trauma-informed approach to counseling is individually tailored to the client and is influenced by research-based modalities and techniques: Bowen Family Systems, Gestalt Theory, Attachment-Based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, REBT, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Narrative and Person-Centered.
Amy’s professional and clinical background includes:
- Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, Supervised by Lisa Grubbs, PhD, LPC – S
- Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, The Kings University
- One year of practicum experience providing Psycho-social support to Cancer Patients and their adult family members/caregiversAmy is a first responder family member. When not at work, she enjoys the outdoors, attending live music/sports/stand-up comedy events, and spending time with family and friends.
Amy works with adults ages 25-99: Chronically ill patients and their caregivers, family members of individuals on Hospice care, married couples and pre-marital, individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions (eg. retirement, empty nesting, new parents, career change), adult children caregivers of aging parents. She sees clients virtually and at the North Richland Hills office.
